Abstract
Atypical presentations of myocardial infarction are more common in the elderly. Fifty-three cases of myocardial infarction were found by prospectively screening all acute medical admissions aged over 75 years. The presenting symptom was compared with an assessment of mental state using a simple scoring system. Atypical presentations were found to be significantly (P=<0.001) associated with an impaired mental score. Keywords
