Abstract
In this study a secondary analysis was performed of data collected previously by two of the authors (SAB, SPD) concerning the health beliefs of patients with diabetes. Demographic data included age, gender, race, and education level. Diabetes-related data included length of time since diagnosis, number of physician visits related to diabetes within the last year, and the type of treatment regimen. These factors were thought to influence the health beliefs of adults with diabetes and therefore affect patient compliance with recommended health behaviors. Keywords
