Abstract
Corynebacterium sepedonicum growing on synthetic media containing various pectic substances did not produce any of the following pectic enzymes, pectin methylesterase, depolymerase, polygalacturonase, and protopectinase, even with the addition of glucose. Moreover, none of these enzymes was found in potatoes heavily contaminated with C. sepedonicum and showing symptoms of ring rot. Keywords
