Abstract
The phenomenological Lagrangian approach to the current-field algebra, and its advantages and defects, are discussed. The computational rules are stated, and justification is offered. Based on the phenomenological field-algebra Lagrangian, we consider the electromagnetic effects on the pion mass (for finite pion mass), the -meson mass, and the pion decay.
