Abstract
A new anticonvulsant, 5,5-phenylthienylhydantoin, proposed for the treatment of epilepsy, was compared with Dilantin and Mesantoin by 4 different assay methods in rats and examined for its ability to modify theelec-troshock seizure pattern in man. The thienyl congener more closely resembles Dilantin than Mesantoin in its spectrum of antiepileptic actions. Keywords
