Abstract
The absorption spectrum of BF3 gas in the K edge region of boron ( approximately=190 eV) has been measured under high resolution using synchrotron radiation. The observed spectra are consistent with an energy level scheme for the excited states of the molecules proposed by Walsh. The onset of K absorption shifts to higher energy on going from boron metal to BCl3 to BF3.Keywords
