Abstract
The Dirac equation for the hydrogen atom is solved exactly in momentum space chosen to be properly conjugate to the spherical polar variables of position space. The coupled first-order differential equations are readily solved to give functions which involve a sum over poles along the imaginary axis at , where is the apparent principal quantum number.
