Abstract
The authors have reduced the temperature dependence of the mean wavelength of an erbium-doped superfluorescent fibre source to below 0.08 pm/°C (0.05 ppm/°C) using a long period fibre grating. This is greater than a 100-fold improvement on the 9.6 pm/°C (6.2 ppm/°C) intrinsic temperature dependence of the source. Keywords
