Abstract
Based on the parabolic equation, the problem of a statistical description for caustic origin in random media is considered. The method from White and co-workers are used and the stochastic equations are considered under the delta-correlated random-field approximation, which corresponds to Stratonovich formalism. This approach differs from the one used by White, where Ito formalism was used. It allows us to define the law of caustic formation in two- and three-dimensional random media from dimension considerations on the basis of a physical approach. Keywords
