Abstract
Spin-Hamiltonian parameters are calculated for -doped single crystals of rare-earth trifluorides , with the use of the point-charge—plus—induced-dipole model. It is found that most of the parameters can be computed to be within experimental error by suitable choices of polarizability tensors.
