Abstract
After the growth of P. pullulans in nutrient media containing D-xylose as the sole C source, the following compounds were isolated from the cell- and polysaccharide-free culture solutions and characterized: D-xylulose, xylitol and D-xylonic acid. The presence of small amounts of glucose, gluconic and ribonic acids was detected, in addition, by paper chromatographic methods. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
