Abstract
The influence of resistivity on the propagation of axisymmetric shear Alfven waves excited by a localized antenna in a cylindrical nonuniform plasma is discussed. It is shown that the dominant effect of a small resistivity on localized disturbances is the diffusion of the nonuniform wave fields. The result is compared to a recent laboratory experiment. Keywords
