Abstract
The emission spectra in the region 40 to 90 ev of the following alloys were obtained; Ni/Zn, A1/Fe (ordered and disordered), and Mg2Xi. Very little change of bandwidth on alloying was observed for any system; and, for the metals Ni, Zn and Fe, no change of shape. The spectra of the individual components showed no tendency to become similar in shape. Some simple rules are presented which describe the general behaviour of spectra of different metals on alloying. Keywords
