Abstract
A strain of M. tetragenus isolated from a patient had at least 5 major variant forms which were regarded as specific types. Each of the types had the usual M, S and R culture phases. There was constant evidence of the transformation of one type into another in vivo and in vitro. Type transformation presumably occurs also among other species of bacteria. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
