Abstract
The mean cord blood red cell cholinesterase is only 53% of the adult mean. The adult level is reached between 3 and 5 months of age. Young cord red cells contain more cholinesterase than older cells. In 11 cases of erythroblastosis fetalis the red cell cholinesterase was within the normal cord blood range. Keywords
