Abstract
Until recently the research on binary systems at high pressures was mainly focused on the phase behaviour of the fluid phases. In the last few years the interest has shifted towards other properties of the mixtures and towards the coexisting solid phases. Several exciting new discoveries have been made. In this article the recent developments in the field will be described. Keywords
