Abstract
It is shown that the standard SU(2) lattice gauge theory is in a confining phase for all values of the coupling, , and . The main idea is to show that the electricflux free energy is bounded by expressions resulting from approximate (Migdal-Kadanoff) renormalization-group transformations.
