Abstract
The N-sparing effect of sugar fed simultaneously with protein was investigated with diabetic and hypophysectomized rats. Like normal animals, these rats excreted less nitrogen during the period of simultaneous feeding than when the sugar and the protein were fed separately. The results suggest therefore that the Langerhans Islands and the pituitary are not involved in the N-sparing action of sugar fed simultaneously with protein. Keywords
