Abstract
Avidin prepns. from hen''s eggwhite were tested against Micrococcus lysodeikticus and Sarcina lutea. Avidin activity was proportional to the activity of lysozyme, a mucolytic hen''s eggwhite enzyme which destroys bacteria. The lytic activity of lysozyme against M. lysodeikticus was markedly increased by addn. of biotin. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
