Abstract
Two proteins, FI and FVIII, have been purified from a whole worm extract of adult Ascaris suum, using ammonium sulfate precipitation, Sephadex gel filtration and DEAE cellulose chromatography. Both of them provoke reagin formation in mice as tested in presensitized animals with an original immediate hyper-sensitivity reaction test. They are two chemically and physically different protein molecules showing no cross reaction with a rabbit serum anti-crude extract but bearing common allergenic epitopes as proved when tested in mice. This publication has 27 references indexed in Scilit:
