Abstract
Dogs under nembutal anesthesia and given intraven. 1 ml./kg. of 2% alphal-naphthylthiourea (ANTU) in propylene glycol developed fatal pulmonary edema. The first evidence of changes leading to edema was an increased flow of lung lumph. Greater rate and minute volume of breathing followed. Blood gas analyses indicated that the hyperpnoea of rapidly developing pulmonary edema was peripheral in origin. Detailed protocols are given for 2 typical expts. Keywords
