Abstract
Percival introduced a “Lagrangian” for finding quasi-periodic orbits. For suitable area preserving mappings, we show that Percival's “Lagrangian” is strictly concave with respect to an appropriate affine structure on its domain. Consequently, the “Lagrangian” admits a unique maximum in the case of irrational frequencies.Keywords
