Abstract
Excited electronic states of RbCs have been rotationally analysed for the first time. Three states in the region 20 000–22 000 cm−1 above the ground state have been characterized by model fitting of upper rotational levels pumped by various Ar+ and Kr+ laser lines. Moreover, IR cross fluorescence between 5000 and 10000 cm−1 has been recorded, allowing for an analysis of two excited states situated between 13 000 and 15000 cm−1 above the ground state. Dissociation products and energies are discussed. Keywords
