Abstract

Through investigation of the reaction

π^{+} p \to π^{+} π^{+} n

at an incident pion kinetic energy of 357 Mev, we have found the

I = 2

π - π

scattering length

| a_{2} | ≲ 0.15 λ_{π}

. This work is compared with other experiments bearing on this scattering length.
