Abstract
Climatically controlled morphogenetic systems occur in zones. The circumpolar zones, characterised by permafrost, though now narrow extended in glacial ages into the middle latitudes. To valley excavation of a special kind controlled by active cryergic processes in these zones Biidel attributes most of the sculpture of extensive middlelatitude regions, the landforms of which he therefore regards as largely relict. Keywords
