Abstract
An exact solution of the inhomogeneously broadened self-induced transparency equations is given which describes the multiple collision of N solitons with different velocities. The solution is the same as the sharp-line solution except that the amplitude dependent velocity of each soliton has a different functional form. An exact N soliton solution of the form of the broadened Maxwell-Bloch equations valid at low densities is also reported. Keywords
