Abstract
Magnetic measurements have been made on single crystals of neodymium which were grown by the Bridgman technique. At 20.4°K and above, the susceptibility obtained with the field perpendicular to the axis of the hexagonal crystal is greater than that obtained with the field parallel to the axis. In this same temperature range no anisotropy is observed in the basal plane. At 4.2°K antiferromagnetic ordering is indicated by the data and magnetic anisotropy in the basal plane is observed.
