Abstract
Diffusely infiltrating carcinoma of the colon with a vigorous stromal desmoplastic response was referred to as linitis plastica carcinoma of the colon. Only a relatively small number of such cases were reported. A disproportionate number of these involve younger age groups and survival as a rule was poor. The term linitis plastica is used to describe specific patterns of infiltration and desmoplasia that are distinctive from those seen in typical colonic adenocarcinomas. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
