Abstract
Human-computer interaction (HCI) research is concerned with the design of interfaces that allow easy and efficient use of computer systems. This report is the result of a workshop held to define the state of the art and to identify HCI research directions. The workshop was held on March 4 and 5, 1991 at George Washington University. The participants considered four areas of HCI research: theory and models; input/output devices; tools and architectures; and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW). This report contains information about each of these areas. Keywords
