Abstract
The electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of doped KMg single crystals containing , , , , and have been observed at 9 GHz. Cubic symmetry sites have been identified for these ions and the data indicate that the , , , and substitute for the sixfold-coordinated ion, but that the gadolinium probably substitutes for a twelvefold-coordinated ion. Noncubic symmetry sites were also observed for , , and . Hyperfine structure for the isotopes , , , , , and was identified, and in some cases superhyperfine interactions with the fluorine ligand ions were observed with good resolution.
