Abstract
Recognizing the advisement needs of registered nurse students pursuing a baccalaureate in nursing while managing employment, family, and academic obligations is important. The most useful academic advising functions identified were advice on requirements and registration with respondents indicating self-monitoring of their degree progress. Respondents represented characteristics of adult learners who preferred scheduled interviews for advisement with apparent themes of firmness and availability of the academic adviser and flexibility in requirements. Keywords
