Abstract
The Born total cross section is calculated for the inelastic scattering of electrons by hydrogen atoms undergoing the transitions: and 10,9 → 11,10. By means of interpolation and extrapolation the cutoff momentum is estimated for all transitions of the type , , for through 10. These are used to construct tables which provide a simple estimate of the Bethe total cross section.
