Abstract
Indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and solid phase radioimmunoassay (SPRIA) using either anti-human or anti-mouse IgG labeled with horseradish peroxidase and 125I, respectively, were developed for the detection of Junin, Machupo, Tacaribe, Amapari, Tamiami, Lassa and lymphocytic chroiomeningitis arenaviruses. Both methods allow high sensitivity detection of arenavirus antigens and antibodies.
