Abstract
Peach trees sprayed with lead arsenate had more than twice as many drops as those sprayed with dieldrin, parathion or EPN. Concentrated spraying was more effective against the plum curculio than conventional spraying. Aldrin, heptachlor and isodrin worked into the soil were highly effective against the plum curculio during immature stages. BHC was more effective than DDT or parathion for preventing peach tree borer infestation when applied as a trunk spray, and trichlorobenzene emulsion was somewhat more effective than ethylene dichloride emulsion for the control of that insect. Parathion was more effective than DDT or benzene hexachloride against the lesser peach tree borer.
