Abstract
Methods for the preparation of alphavirus nucleocapsids [from Sindbis virus and Semliki Forest virus] and envelope fragments for biochemical, EM and serological investigations are described. Difficulties which were encountered previously in attempts to isolate viral nucleocapsids for morphological studies, i.e., disruption of the fragile particles, were overcome by treatment with formaldehyde. Keywords
