Potential in lattice U(1) gauge theory

Abstract
We use Monte Carlo simulation to study the potential between static test charges in compact lattice U(1) gauge theory. In the weak-coupling (Coulomb) phase we measure the charge renormalization in this theory, and in the strong-coupling phase we measure the string tension.Keywords
