Abstract
The ultraviolet irradiation of 2,4,6-tri-t-butyl-4-methoxycyclohexa-2,5-dienone (V) in methanol and in ether has yielded a photoketone VI and 3,6-di-t-butylguaiacol (VIII) respectively. The irradiation of V in the presence of oxygen in ether has yielded VIII and the hydroperoxide of VI. Other related p-quinol ethers have also been subjected to photolysis. Keywords
