Abstract
The retrospective evaluations of their degree courses by a sample of 1980 British graduates are analysed. They suggest two evaluation routes—an educational evaluation route and an instrumental evaluation route. Graduates differed according to the relative importance of the routes used according to: the subject in which they qualified; their relative success; their initial labour market experience; and their current (1986) labour market situation. Keywords
