Abstract
The influence of a coplanar ground on the dispersion characteristics of neighbouring microstrip is studied using the time-domain finite-difference method. Changes in characteristic impedance and propagation constant from those of ideal microstrip are obtained. Further, an imaginary part of the characteristic impedance and a non-negligible attenuation constant are detected at high frequencies.Keywords
