Abstract
Twenty-five patients with pancreatic pseudocysts were treated surgically. The operative mortality was 4 per cent. Morbidity after external drainage was higher (86 per cent) than after internal drainage (36 per cent), mainly due to the presence of chronic postoperative pancreatic fistulas. A standard procedure based on our own results and published data for management of pancreatic pseudocysts is proposed. Keywords
