Abstract
Protein synthesis in rabbit reticulocytes takes place in polyribosomes. A study of this process in the intact cell reveals that each ribosome active in protein synthesis contains two sRNA molecules. It is also shown that inactive single ribosomes have attached to them approximately one sRNA molecule. These results are discussed in terms of a possible mechanism of protein synthesis. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
