Abstract
A case of constrictive pericarditis with hypoproteinemia was reported with the demonstration of gastrointestinal protein loss and lymphangiectasia of the intestinal mucosa. From these facts hypoproteinemia in cardiac diseases was considered to be due to gastrointestinal protein loss caused by a disorder of the lymphatic vessels of the small bowel. Keywords
