Abstract
The electronic structure of ordered fcc Pt(001) Invar has been studied by spin-resolved, angle-dependent photoemission with synchrotron radiation. The exchange splitting along Δ is determined to be 2.1±0.2 eV. The peak positions in the spin-resolved energy distribution curves agree closely with recent band-structure calculations. A close relation to the calculated electronic structure of fcc Fe in the high-spin state is observed.
