Abstract
We suggest that the reaction provides a useful probe of nuclear structure. A model in which the pion is absorbed on a single nucleon is used to calculate the cross sections in a plane wave approximation. Results are presented for and targets. The high momentum transfer nature of this reaction leads to considerable sensitivity to the dineutron wave function on which the pion is absorbed.
