Abstract
This histo-logic and radiographic study utilized 1 control and 3 experimental groups. One experimental group was administered parathyroid extract only and another group received estrogen. A third experimental group was administered both parathyroid extract and estrogen. Under the condition of this study it was concluded that estrogen retards growth, produces en-dosteal proliferation with concimmitant loss of marrow cavity space in the jaw and long bones, was associated with an increased radiodensity of the incisor teeth, and caused the interdental papillae to become flattened and inflamed. Parathyroid extract administration did not affect the teeth, although its administration was associated with an increased number of osteoclasts and bone resorption this was more evident in the estrogen treated animals.
