Abstract
A class of problems involving the interaction of a crack with a line singularity arises in study of fracture both on the microscopic scale and by atomistic computer modelling. For potential use in such problems, an expression is developed for the two dimensional elastic Green function for an arbitrarily anisotropic body containing a plane crack with straight, parallel edges. The line force source lies parallel to the crack edges. An example of application is given by calculating the force of deflection on a crack, caused by a rod shaped coherent precipitate. Keywords
