Abstract
Teleosts provide abundant opportunities to examine the physiological regulation of sexual behavior. As in other vertebrates, hormones synchronize behavior with gonadal development in the individual, while pheromones synchronize reproductive activities between individuals. Studies of fish with ancestral reproductive patterns should provide insight into the origins or vertebrate hormone-sex behavior mechanisms. Keywords
