Two-section semiconductor laser amplifier used asa photodetector with DC component consideration

Abstract

A two-section semiconductor laser amplifier (SLA) is used as an in-line photodetector with a particular connection to keep the DC component of the signal. The immunity of the detected signal to supply current or temperature drifts is evaluated.
