Abstract
The effects of vitamin B12, a combination of vitamin B12 and sodium folvate, and sodium folvate alone, on the weight, length, hemoglobin, hematocrit, etrythrocyte count, reticulocyte count, M.C.H., M.C.V. and M.C.H.C. has been studied in 52 premature infants. Twenty-four premature infants receiving neither sodium folvate nor vitamin B12 served as controls. We were unable to demonstrate any influence of these vitamins singly or in combination during the first 50 days of life. Keywords
