Abstract
A method is described for the identification and estimation of estrone, estradiol-17-beta, 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone, 17-ketoestradiol-17-beta, 16-epi-estriol and estriol after incubation with mammalian tissue. The method involves extraction followed by paper chromatography using formamide/monochlorbenzene or chloroform, elution, and estimation of the estrogens by the Kober reaction. Rf values and mobilities of the C18 steroids are given. Recovery experiments indicate that constant losses between 10% and 30% take place during chromatography and elution. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
